Nordic-Baltic Energy Conference 2019: Good governance, policy design and solutions towards 2030
October 24-25 in Tallinn at the Nordic Hotel Forum Conference Centre
Invitation and registration   Nordic-Baltic Energy conference unfolds at the time, when all EU member states are working on the long term strategies to meet the energy and climate challenges. Many countries are asking the question – where do we get our future energy from?  Through the concept of good governance, there is a need for increased international cooperation on European level and on regional level. Important EU decisions have been taken under the „Clean Energy for all Europeans Package”.   Now, the Nordic and Baltic governments are in the midst of adjusting their energy and climate plans and there are ongoing regional consultations on how plans are being drafted. These plans are already out for discussion and cover broad energy issues. The conference will be an opportunity to have insight in these draft plans. The focus will be the energy policy dimension.   The conference provides a platform for further exchange of information and co-operation. This conference should be valuable in addressing policies and concrete solutions in the regional perspective and provide a platform for further networking and cooperation between the Nordics and the Baltics. We expect that the conference will provide better insight in the new energy legislation under implementation. Even better cooperation between the Nordics and the Baltics can be foreseen.

Thematic sessions with national administrations, IEA, DG Energy and IRENA will include: Policy perspectives 2030 and 2050; NB8 countries update on energy and climate plans; EU 2050 strategy assessment by industry and experts; Energy infrastructure and interconnections; Security of supply
Target groups are policy makers, implementing agencies, energy industry, and NGOs, academia and youth representatives.   Many high level speakers from international organizations, governments and businesses will contribute.
